About the Role
Eclipse Dental is looking for a practical, reliable and versatile Multi-Trade Projects Operative to join our projects team.
We design, refurbish and install dental practices across the UK. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting our projects from initial strip-out through to final finishing, installation and handover.
No two projects are exactly the same. Depending on the job, you could be carrying out strip-out works, making good and plastering, completing basic carpentry, decorating a surgery, assisting with the installation of dental equipment, carrying out snagging works or helping to get a completed practice ready for handover.
We use specialist subcontractors for larger trade packages, so we are not looking for someone who is an expert in every trade. We are looking for a capable all-rounder who has experience across several practical trades, takes pride in the quality of their work and is happy to turn their hand to different tasks to help get a project completed.
This role involves regular travel to projects throughout Kent and the SE, with occasional overnight stays where required. A company van and fuel card are provided, with overtime opportunities where additional hours are required due to project workload or travel.
Responsibilities
- General multi-trade works on dental surgery refurbishment and installation projects
- Strip-out and preparation of existing surgeries and practice areas
- Painting and decorating, particularly individual rooms, smaller areas, touch-ups and remedial works
- Filling, making good and minor plastering and patch repairs
- Basic carpentry and joinery works
- Fitting fixtures, fittings, accessories and finishing items
- Silicone, sealant and general finishing works
- Assisting our engineers with the installation and positioning of dental equipment
- Carrying out snagging and remedial works prior to project handover
- Protecting completed surfaces and working carefully around finished areas
- General maintenance and improvement works at Eclipse premises between projects
- Keeping company tools, equipment and vehicles clean, organised and well maintained
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment
About You
We are interested in applicants from a range of trade backgrounds. You do not need to be an expert in everything, but you should have good practical ability across several areas and be willing to develop additional skills.
The right person will:
- Have previous experience in construction, refurbishment, fit-out, maintenance or a multi-trade role
- Be competent in several areas such as painting and decorating, plastering and making good, carpentry and joinery etc
- Be confident using hand and power tools
- Have good practical problem-solving skills
- Be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
- Have a good eye for detail and take pride in achieving a high-quality finish
- Work in a clean, organised and methodical way
- Be particularly careful when working in completed, finished or customer-facing areas
- Be reliable, professional and comfortable working in customer premises
- Be willing to travel throughout the UK and occasionally stay away from home
- Hold a full UK driving licence
Trade qualifications are advantageous but not essential. For us, practical ability, attitude, reliability and quality of workmanship are just as important.
