Role Overview
We are looking for a reliable and hard‑working Kitchen Assistant to join our busy kitchen team at The Lane. This role is essential in keeping the kitchen running smoothly , supporting our chefs, maintaining cleanliness, and helping with daily food preparation. Experience in a kitchen environment is ideal, as we operate at a fast pace and high standard, especially during the summer holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Pot washing and maintaining a clean, organised wash area
- Supporting chefs with basic food preparation (chopping, portioning, assembling)
- Setting up afternoon teas including sandwiches, cakes, and presentation
- General kitchen cleaning: surfaces, equipment, floors
- Stock rotation and keeping fridges organised
- Running items between kitchen and front‑of‑house when needed
- Assisting with any tasks the chef requires during service
- Following all food hygiene and safety procedures
What We’re Looking For
- Someone 18+ due to equipment and safety requirements
- A positive, can‑do attitude
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Experience in a kitchen is preferred, but not essential if you’re quick to learn
- Reliability and flexibility summer holidays are extremely busy for us, so we need someone who can confidently take on extra hours during peak weeks
- Someone who can start as soon as possible

- Pay depends on age and experience
