Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Duty Manager or Host to join our vibrant team at Wild Oak Group Ltd in the UK. This role is vital in ensuring our guests receive outstanding service and that daily operations run smoothly, reflecting our commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily hotel operations to ensure high standards of guest service.
- Lead and supervise staff to deliver exceptional hospitality experiences.
- Manage guest relations, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Coordinate with different departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Support human resources activities including staff training and development.
- Maintain a welcoming environment that aligns with the company's values.
- Assist in managing reservations, check-ins, and check-outs as needed.
- Uphold health and safety standards across all areas of operation.
- Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within the hospitality or hotel industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication skills; multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable.
- Previous hotel or guest services experience preferred.
- Ability to handle guest concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Knowledge of human resources practices related to hospitality staff.
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
- Flexibility to adapt to dynamic operational needs - Roll your sleeves up!
- Able to prepare some simple food dishes on quieter shifts
The role will also requires you to help maintain the cleanliness and presentation standards in public areas. You will be the face of our hotel, interacting with guests and handling their enquiries promptly and professionally. Daily tasks also include taking bookings and payments, answering the phone and emails, assigning tasks for the housekeepers, checking the bedrooms have been serviced to standard - as well as dealing with the unexpected! A significant aspect of this position is your ability to prioritise, and react flexibly to the fast-paced environment of our hotels. There are two shifts for the Host role – Early shift is usually 7.30am to 3.00pm and Late shift is 2.00pm to 9.30pm as minimum hours. However, these times do vary especially during the summer season; with the driving factor being the guest experience i.e. if we know somebody would like a drink when they come in after their meal, we need to make sure the bar is open for them. Applicants must have some flexibility as we are unable to guarantee the same shift on a permanent basis although we will endeavour to honour any requests where the needs of the business allow.
