Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where young children can thrive and develop essential skills. Your skills will ensure that daily activities promote learning through play, foster positive relationships with children and families, and support the overall development of each child. Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children’s developmental milestones in line with early childhood education standards
- Supervise and care for children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through clear communication and teamwork
- Support children's learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Plan and deliver engaging activities that support children's learning and development across all seven areas of the EYFS
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children at all times
- Provide high-quality care and education for children aged 0–5 years, ensuring their individual needs are met in a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment
- Manage daily routines including meal times, naps, play sessions, and learning activities
- Maintain accurate records of children’s progress, attendance, and any incidents or concerns
- Work positively as part of the nursery team
- Lead by example in promoting good behavior, social skills, and emotional regulation among children
- Support the professional development of team members through transparency and sharing best practices
Qualifications
- Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or working towards where appropriate)
- Proven experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting
- Excellent communication skills in English to interact confidently with children, parents, and team members
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations
- Valid nursery experience certification or relevant childcare qualifications
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
- Good understanding of the EYFS
Desirable
- Paediatric First Aid qualification
- Food Hygiene Qualification
