Despatch Operative
Due to a move of posts within the team, LaserMaster is looking for someone to assist with the wrapping of pallets, and general organisation of large orders for some of our larger customers. Using the correct packaging and labelling system as will be taught upon position.
This is a physically demanding job and needs someone who is organised, self-driven and is able to ensure that orders have been checked for quality, quantity and meeting lead times- and ultimately packaged correctly.
Key Duties/Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
- Get loads ready on time
- Packing and loading Lorries and ensure loads are safety loaded
- Verifying product to delivery paperwork.
- Liaising with courier and Sales Office to ensure timely despatch of products.
- Being trustworthy to work alone to complete work.
- Follow established safety rules, regulations, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
- Using a forklift to move pallets and to load and off load lorries.
- Computer literate to be able to book pallets
- Ad hock packaging and despatch of smaller items via DHL to cover other team members
Essential Criteria:
- Experience in a Despatch Operative role or similar.
- Knowledge of sheet metal desired but not essential
- Good attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent ability to manage deadlines and multitask.
- A can-do attitude and a team player.
- A willingness and enthusiasm to help other team members as and when required.
- Forklift experience
- Minimum of A-C (and equivalent) in Maths and English
- Ability to get your self to work on time
Hours are Monday to Friday 8AM- 5PM – it may be that at busier times overtime will be required on these day and possibly weekends.
£13.45 Per hour – basic hours are 42.5hrs per week.
