Purpose of Position
We are seeking a Product Marketing Manager dedicated to uncovering customer insights through rigorous research to take our understanding of our customers to the next level, over a 12-month maternity cover contract.
Our team makes Awin's extensive knowledge and platform relatable, empowering customers to master our tools and drive long-term adoption. As we continue our transition toward becoming a more data-fluent team, this role is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact. We will rely on you to develop the relevant dashboards and surface the insights that shape our direction. You should feel confident using event-tracking platforms like Amplitude (or similar). You'll collaborate with individual product teams to understand how the track events in their respective areas, allowing you to surface contextual insights that directly connect the impact of our marketing campaigns to product usage.
You will have the autonomy to ask the tough questions: Are we solving the right problems? Where are we falling short? What should we do differently to provide more value? When data indicates a campaign or strategy is not meeting its objective, we are looking for someone with the courage to tell us our current approach isn't working, coupled with the strategic curiosity to flag, "Here is where the drop-off is happening, and these are the user behaviour patterns we need to address."
Success in this role requires more than data extraction or creating dashboards. It requires the ability to synthesise qualitative and quantitative insights to analyse whether our marketing efforts are successfully helping customers adopt features that actually improve their outcomes.
Day to day, this role does not require coding (Python, R) or building reports in Power BI or Tableau, but having a working understanding of them is a plus for discussing data topics with analysts across other business functions. Instead, you will work closely with our marketing effectiveness manager to connect these dots, alongside our senior customer insights manager and UX researchers to weave in qualitative data for a holistic picture.
As this is a 12-month maternity cover, we are looking for someone who has the technical capability to hit the ground running from day one. In return, we are committed to providing the full support necessary to help you settle in, take ownership of these insights, and make a meaningful impact quickly.
Key Tasks
- Analyse whether our product marketing efforts are successfully helping customers adopt features that drive genuine value for them, moving beyond simple campaign click metrics. You build relevant, accessible dashboards that clearly highlight campaign successes and pinpoint specific areas for future improvement.
- Integrate quantitative product usage data with qualitative insights, such as support tickets and user interviews, to create a holistic view of the customer journey and identify specific friction points where our messaging or product education fails to bridge the gap between user intent and success.
- Where specific customer segments are struggling to take the appropriate actions, translate these data into tangible actions that relevant teams can look to solve.
- Define success metrics based on customer outcomes to ensure all our initiatives are tied to long-term adoption and revenue growth rather than just vanity metrics.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of our product suite to ensure you can interpret data with the necessary context.
Skills & Expertise
- 4+ years of experience using product analytics or event-tracking platforms (e.g. Amplitude, Mixpanel, Heap etc.) to analyse user behaviour and build robust reporting.
- Familiarity with coding languages (such as Python or R) or BI tools (like Power BI or Tableau) is a bonus
- Proven ability to synthesise quantitative product data with qualitative insights (e.g., user research, feedback loops) to tell a complete story of the customer experience.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including Product, Marketing, and central Data teams, to align on goals
- Demonstrated experience in translating analytical findings into commercially relevant recommendations and presenting these to senior stakeholders
- Commercially aware with a good understanding of market drivers and client needs
- Excellent written and spoken English
