About the RoleAt Jamaica Blue Cafe, we take pride in serving delicious handcrafted food and our signature single-origin coffees. We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, and reliable Customer Service Representative to join our team.
As the face of our cafe, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional service, creating a warm, welcoming environment for our guests, and ensuring smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service & Hospitality: Warmly greet customers upon arrival, assist with inquiries, take orders, and ensure every guest has a great dining experience.
- Till & Payments: Take customer orders accurately at the register and handle both cash and card transactions efficiently.
- Service Support: Serve food and beverages to tables, clear plates, and assist team members during busy peak hours.
- Cleaning & Dining Area Maintenance: Maintain high hygiene standards across the floor by wiping down tables, cleaning seating areas, and keeping the cafe tidy throughout the day.
- Dishwashing: Operate the dishwasher, wash cookware and cutlery, and ensure all serving equipment is clean and sanitized.
- Restocking: Monitor and restock counter displays, condiments, napkins, drinks, and essential cafe supplies.
- End-of-Day Operations: Complete daily closing tasks, including deep-cleaning dining and service areas, sweeping/mopping floors, trash removal, and preparing the cafe for the next morning.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong communication skills and a positive, customer-first attitude.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced cafe environment.
- Prior experience in customer service, retail, or hospitality is a plus, but full training will be provided.
- High attention to detail regarding food safety and hygiene standards.
- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and morning/closing shifts as needed.
