We are currently recruiting an experienced CNC Machinist / Programmer to join our highly skilled team working within our state-of-the-art machine shop on the evening shift. The machine shop is essential to our business function and this is reflected in MCFT’s considerable investment in modern high-tech equipment and software. The successful candidate will have proven experience programming, setting and operating multi-axis CNC milling machines and will be capable of producing high-precision components to exacting tolerances with minimal supervision.
Working Hours; 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday, 4.00pm – 12.30am
Key Responsibilities
- Programming, setting and operating multi axis milling machines.
- Producing precision components to exacting standards and tolerances.
- Producing first-off and batch components while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Inspecting finished components using precision measuring equipment to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Working to tight deadlines and schedules.
- Proactively contributing and working within the machine shop team.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, quality and health & safety within the machine shop.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist / Programmer within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Experience programming, setting and operating multi-axis CNC milling machines.
- Time served engineering apprenticeship or other relevant qualifications
- Sound knowledge of basic machining and engineering principles.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Competence in the use of manual measuring equipment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong understanding of tooling, cutting parameters, feeds and speeds.
Desirables
- Familiar with Haas, DMG machines or CMS machines
- Experience using hyperMILL CAD/CAM software.
- Working knowledge of precision component parts using a wide variety of materials.
- Experience machining carbon fibre components.
- Flexibility with a team centred attitude.
