THE POST – REQ000587 - Compliance Technician
The Compliance Technician will play a key role in supporting the Maintenance Services Manager in delivering statutory compliance across the University estate, with a particular focus on water hygiene management. The successful candidate will undertake routine monitoring, inspections, temperature checks, flushing programmes and compliance record management, ensuring activities are carried out in line with relevant legislation, Approved Codes of Practice and University procedures. The role will also contribute to the ongoing development of the University's compliance arrangements, helping to maintain safe, resilient and operationally effective campus facilities.
In addition to water hygiene activities, the postholder will support a range of statutory compliance programmes, including fire alarm testing, emergency lighting inspections and planned preventative maintenance activities. Working closely with maintenance teams and specialist contractors, the Compliance Technician will help ensure compliance records are accurately maintained, statutory tasks are completed within required timescales, and any defects, risks or non-compliance issues are promptly identified and addressed. The role will involve working across all UWS campuses as required to support operational needs.
The successful candidate should have the following:
Educated to SVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent demonstrable extensive experience with suitable training.
- Experience working within an estates, facilities management, maintenance or engineering environment.
- Experience undertaking planned preventative maintenance, inspections or compliance-related activities.
- Experience maintaining technical records and documentation.
- Experience working safely within regulated environments and following safe systems of work.
- Experience using IT systems, mobile technology or CAFM systems to record and manage work activities.
- Experience undertaking water hygiene management activities.
- Experience within Higher Education
