Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior IT Specialist to lead our organization's information technology initiatives. Duties
- Manage and maintain server environments, including Windows Server, Linux, and cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Oversee network security measures, including firewalls, Cisco routers, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems to safeguard organizational data.
- Implement disaster recovery plans and conduct regular testing to ensure business continuity in case of system failures or cyber incidents.
- Lead systems engineering projects involving VMware vSphere, Microsoft SQL Server, IIS, DHCP, and other critical infrastructure components.
- Provide advanced technical support for hardware and software issues across desktop and remote environments using tools like Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, ServiceNow, Jira, and remote access software.
- Supervise network support activities involving LAN/WAN configurations, Cisco networking equipment, network infrastructure upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Utilize monitoring tools such as SolarWinds to proactively identify system issues and optimize network performance.
- Develop documentation for IT processes using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; prepare reports on system health and security status for management review.
- Lead IT projects utilizing project management methodologies aligned with ITIL best practices; coordinate cross-functional teams to meet project goals on time.
- Analyze system logs and performance metrics to identify vulnerabilities or inefficiencies; recommend improvements based on thorough analysis skills.
- Supervise junior staff members by providing guidance on technical tasks, fostering a collaborative team environment focused on continuous improvement.
Experience
- Extensive experience managing enterprise-level server environments with a focus on Windows Server and Linux systems.
- Proven track record in implementing and maintaining information security protocols across diverse networks.
- Strong background in network engineering including LAN/WAN design, Cisco router configuration, firewall management, and network infrastructure upgrades.
- Demonstrated leadership with supervising teams of IT professionals; experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with excellent time management skills.
- Hands-on experience with disaster recovery planning, business continuity strategies, and cloud services such as AWS and Azure.
- Proficiency in using monitoring tools like SolarWinds for network performance analysis; familiarity with VMware vSphere and Microsoft SQL Server administration is essential.
- Knowledge of ITIL frameworks for service management; experience with ticketing systems like ServiceNow or Jira for issue tracking is preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills to convey technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders; organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
