We are looking for a permanent Yard Worker and Forklift Driver to join Lliw Building Supplies Ltd. based in Pontardawe.
The chosen candidate will be responsible for supporting operating efficiency of the yard by safely operating forklifts and handling materials

A builders’ merchant is a company which supplies materials to the construction sector.

Hours:
40 hours per week to be worked between 7:30am - 16:30pm from Monday to Friday. The successful candidate is also required to work 1 in 2 Saturday's.

Duties:
- General warehouse duties and stock management
- Picking orders, loading and unloading and related paperwork
- Customer service - dealing with customers in person
- Driving forklift
- The role offers scope to develop selling skills, customer service and an understanding of materials, stock control, orders and deliveries.
Essential skills:
- Counterbalance forklift licence
- GCSE Maths (minimum grade C or a good understanding of metric and imperial measurements and basic mental arithmetic)
- Good paperwork skills
- Confident communicator
- Proven teamwork skills
- Naturally tidy and organised
- Willingness to engage with customers and provide good customer service
- Ability to follow instructions and work unsupervised once trained
- Reliable, industrious, adaptable and quick to grasp new concepts
- Manual handling up to 25kg
Desirable:
- Good knowledge of building materials and their usage
- An interest in sales and in the construction industry
