Pre-School Leader – St Mary’s Preschool Happy Feet
Location: Killinchy Street, Comber
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Pre-School Leader to lead our committee-led pre-school and provide a high-quality, nurturing and stimulating environment for children.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the setting, leading staff, delivering high-quality early years education and ensuring the welfare, development and wellbeing of all children within our care.
Essential Criteria Level 5 in Leadership for Children’s Care, Learning and Development (or equivalent recognised qualification) Minimum 2 years’ experience working within an Early Years setting Minimum 1 year’s experience in a leadership role within a pre-school setting with responsibility for day-to-day operation of the setting Experience of supervising, supporting and leading staff Knowledge of the Northern Ireland Pre-School Curriculum Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
Desirable Criteria Experience within a committee-led setting First Aid qualification Experience of inspection and quality assurance processes Designated Child Protection Officer training Experience of carrying out the role of Designated Child Protection Officer
Post Details Hours: 22.5 hours per week (Term Time) Salary: Starting at SCP 19 – £16.62 per hour (pro rata) Additional hours may be available during holiday periods through Afterschools and can be discussed at interview Start Date: 24th August 2026 Closing Date: 11th June 2026 Interviews: Week beginning 15th June 2026
