Role
The role of the Site Supervisor is to manage the production teams to ensure quality and productivity targets are met along with meeting customer deadlines. This is a fast paced, bespoke manufacturing business working to very tight deadlines.
The role is suited to someone with experience of working in a bespoke manufacturing environment.
This is a very” hands on” role where you will be expected to be working in the production environment as well as carrying out duties of the Supervisor as listed below:
· Managing skilled and semi-skilled machine operators.
· Monitoring daily employee performance to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and in line with customer needs.
· Ensure operators are working to their schedule and oversee progress.
· Planning resources to match demand and customer deadlines.
· Monitoring jobs through production and rescheduling to meet customer SLAs and deadlines.
· Regular communication with other departments.
· Attend and contribute to production planning and customer project meetings.
· Developing and maintaining operator training programmes whilst training and integrating new employees into the workplace.
· Agreeing and maintaining maintenance schedules.
· Developing and implementing improved production process ideas.
Skills
· This role is best suited to someone that has previous experience of working within a print/bindery role; however, we will consider exceptional candidates that have worked outside of the industry.
· Must be highly organised, structured, and flexible.
· Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines whilst keeping a calm, level-headed approach.
· Ability to think on their feet, changing production priorities at a moment’s notice.
· Ability to manage individuals on a one-to-one basis as well as team projects.
· Leadership, motivational and conflict management skills.
· Good decision-making skills, ability to delegate and have a ‘can do’ attitude.
· Good spoken and written communication skills.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
· Experience working with lean manufacturing tools such as 5S or Keisen.
Hours of Work
Triple Shift Pattern and Annualised Hours. 32 days paid holiday per year plus 8 paid holidays as part of the Annualised Hours Scheme.
Location
The position offered is based at our, out of town, Head Office in Stockton-on-Tees. Free on site parking
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £33,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
