About the Company
Pettifor Group Limited are a young and fast-growing family-owned Nottinghamshire based business that primarily operate in 3 channels:
1. Supply of retail consumer goods into UK retailers and Amazon UK/Europe.
2. E-commerce sales of branded health and beauty products.
3. Regulatory services.
We work with manufacturers in the UK, EU, Turkey and the Far East. We trade in the health and beauty, household, beverage categories. Within 8 months we will launch a range of nutrition and supplement products.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices.
- Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments and similar accounting entries.
- Budgeting and forecasting.
- Leading the analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers and presenting findings to the board.
- Managing an end-to-end audit process of current systems – while acting as the first point of contact for external auditors.
- Dealing with working capital management and production of cash flow forecasts.
- Leading the team responsible for payroll, VAT and HMRC processes.
- Produce a fully reconciled Trial Balance for the preparation of annual statutory accounts.
- Calculation, filing and payment of UK VAT.
- Provision of figures for 3 EU VAT registrations to relevant agencies for preparation and submission of returns
- Negotiating on major projects, loans and grants.
- Manage capital expenditure.
- Report on company assets and liabilities including balance sheet account reconciliations and review of intangible assets.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations.
- Management of junior staff, including day-to-day communication and motivation as well as succession planning and performance management
- Carry out continuous reviews of working accounting practices and processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations
Qualifications & Skills
REQUIRED
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Experience of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Understanding of modern management information systems.
- Strong analytic and numerical skills.
- Experience of dealing with and modelling retail profit margins.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge including statutory accounts.
- Ability to delegate and manage the work of others.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels with both financial and non-financial management.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with a flexible approach to tasks.
- Effective communication skills and the desire to build lasting relationships with people.
- A willingness to challenge and improve processes.
PREFERRED
- A minimum 5 years experience in a commercial environment.
- Knowledge of cloud based bookkeeping systems Orderwise and QuickBooks.
- Production of budgets and cashflow forecasts.
- Experience running annual external audit.
- Experience of managing other staff.
- Ability to manage, delegate, motivate, monitor and control team activities.
- Some Project Management Experience.
