We are seeking a skilled 'production planner' to support our manufacturing processes. This role will include the use of nesting software (experience with Bysoft desirable) and oversee purchasing of sheet metal within the company.
*Ideal candidate would have experience within laser cutting industry, however other experience will be considered i.e. CNC/similar subcontract environment.
Salary is negotiable dependent on skill/experience. Starting range £33,000 + (to include on target earnings and or performance related bonus/pay).
Job Purpose
To enable and play a part in the growth of Premier Laser Cutting Ltd by effectively coordinating the production schedule to ensure that they meet and exceed production targets and maximise machine utilisation by efficient nests.
To ensure the production team produce high quality orders, in the most cost effective and efficient manner to protect and enhance Premier’s performance (by efficient nests and purchasing).
To positively develop relationships to enhance Premiers performance both internally and externally, particularly with customers, suppliers and the Sales team.
Duties / Task
- Use nesting software to maximise efficiency and output.
- Build and maintain good relationships both internally and externally with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
- To contribute to the morale and performance of the production team.
- To nurture the attitude of the team to harbour the Premier mission, our values and objectives and the Premier ‘Can do Will do’ philosophy.
- To ensure that production associated costs are considered in line with the role.
Description of Relationship
The position is within the Production Department, reporting directly to the Directors.
Person Specifications, Standards and Requirements.
- Experience with nesting Software 'Bysoft' would be highly advantageous.
- An engineering background and / or knowledge of the industry sector we serve would be highly advantageous.
- Work with colleagues to support and achieve Premier’s objectives.
- The attitude and ability to work flexibly to meet business needs, to work additional hours when the business requires.
- Enthusiastic about work in an infectious manner.

Qualifications
- Good general standard of education.
- To be fully conversant and able to liaise with customers and suppliers when required.
- Current Fork Lift Truck licence holder.
