Following 11 successful years of delivering high-quality childcare and early education in Luton, Kinder City is excited to be opening a brand-new nursery, Kinder City Parkway, located close to Luton DART Station.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Deputy Manager to join our vibrant early childhood education team. The successful candidate will support the Nursery Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for childcare and leadership to contribute to the development of young children while advancing their managerial skills. The position is paid and suitable for candidates with relevant experience in nursery settings and childcare management.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and policies.
- Support the planning and implementation of educational programmes that promote children's development across all areas.
- Supervise nursery staff, providing guidance, support, and leadership to ensure high standards of care and education are maintained.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff to create a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Oversee children's behaviour management in line with nursery policies, promoting positive behaviour strategies.
- Ensure health and safety procedures are rigorously followed, maintaining a safe environment for children and staff.
- Contribute to staff training and professional development initiatives to enhance team skills.
- Support with administrative tasks such as record keeping, planning documentation, and communication with parents.
- Assist in managing daily routines including meal times, activities, and nap schedules.
Qualifications
Minimum Level 3 Early Years Qualification and experience in a senior role is a must.
- Proven experience working within nurseries or early childhood education settings.
- Strong management and leadership skills with previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of child development principles and childcare best practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst demonstrating initiative.
- Childcare qualifications such as Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent are desirable.
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for travel between nursery sites or community engagement activities.
- Passionate about providing high-quality care and education to young children with a nurturing approach.

Pay: £22,127.00-£27,608.00 per year
