Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Room Leader to oversee the daily operations of our nursery environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating atmosphere for young children, ensuring high standards of childcare and early childhood education are maintained. Duties
- Lead and supervise nursery staff to deliver high-quality childcare and early childhood education programmes.
- Organise daily activities that promote learning, socialisation, and development in line with recognised early years frameworks.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children within the nursery environment at all times.
- Maintain effective communication with parents, carers, and team members regarding children's progress and any concerns.
- Manage administrative tasks such as planning schedules, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Support the professional development of staff through coaching, mentoring, and training initiatives.
- Foster a warm, inclusive atmosphere that encourages children's curiosity and independence.
- Ensure the nursery environment is clean, organised, and stimulating for children’s learning experiences.
Requirements
- Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting.
- Strong working knowledge of childcare practices and early childhood education principles.
- Experience working directly with children in a nursery or similar environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Childcare qualifications recognised by relevant authorities (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent).
- Ability to organise activities effectively whilst maintaining a nurturing environment.
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending off-site activities.
- Passionate about child development with a caring attitude towards young children.
- Organised, proactive, and capable of leading a team in a dynamic setting.
Pay: £12.90-£13.50 per hour
