Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plumber / Gasfitter to join our growing renewable energy and heating team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out plumbing, heating, hot water cylinder, water supply, maintenance and commissioning work across domestic and commercial properties.
You will work as part of a professional installation team, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard in accordance with relevant UK regulations, manufacturer requirements and company procedures.
Experience with Air Source Heat Pumps, unvented hot water cylinders and heating systems is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair and maintain domestic and commercial plumbing and heating systems.
- Install and modify hot and cold-water supply pipework.
- Install, connect and maintain hot water cylinders associated with ASHP systems.
- Carry out primary heating pipework and connections between the ASHP, cylinder and heating system.
- Install valves, pumps, expansion vessels, filters, strainers and other associated components.
- Assist with ASHP installation, plumbing connections and system setup.
- Carry out system filling, flushing, pressure testing and leak detection.
- Commission ASHP and associated heating/hot water systems in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
- Carry out fault finding, repairs and maintenance on plumbing and heating systems.
- Install, inspect and service gas pipework and gas appliances where appropriately qualified.
- Assist with electrical/control wiring associated with heating systems where competent and appropriately qualified.
- Conduct inspections to identify plumbing, heating or gas-related issues and potential safety hazards.
- Use hand tools, power tools and other specialist equipment safely and effectively.
- Work with other engineers and installation teams on complex mechanical and heating projects.
- Carry out general maintenance and remedial plumbing work.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, commissioning information and safety checks.
- Complete installation photographs and documentation where required.
- Maintain a clean, safe and professional working environment.
- Communicate professionally with customers and explain work carried out where required.
- Undertake heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely.
- Follow all relevant UK building regulations, manufacturer instructions, health and safety requirements and company procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Plumber, Heating Engineer or Plumber/Gasfitter.
- Relevant plumbing qualifications, such as NVQ Level 2/3 Plumbing & Heating, or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of domestic plumbing and heating systems.
- Experience installing and connecting hot water cylinders.
- Experience with Air Source Heat Pump systems is highly desirable.
- Unvented hot water cylinder qualification is desirable.
- Gas qualifications and relevant registration/competence where gas work is required.
- Good understanding of water supply and heating pipework.
- Ability to carry out pressure testing, flushing, filling and commissioning.
- Good mechanical knowledge and practical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read plumbing, heating and system schematics.
- Competent use of hand tools and power tools.
- Basic electrical/control wiring knowledge is desirable.
- Basic carpentry skills would be advantageous for installation and structural adjustments.
- Good understanding of measurements, calculations and pipe sizing.
- Full UK driving licence is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: £25,580.08-£30,000.00 per year
