Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff during shifts, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols
- Oversee food production processes, maintaining consistency and presentation standards
- Assist with menu planning and development to introduce new culinary ideas
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen operations
- Manage stock levels, order supplies as needed, and minimise waste
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety procedures
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Experience
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within hospitality or restaurant settings
- Supervising experience or team management skills are highly desirable
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Experience in restaurant or hospitality sectors demonstrating excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of culinary trends and innovative menu development is advantageous
- Previous serving experience is beneficial but not essential; a passion for hospitality is key
