Harrow Carers is seeking an experienced, passionate and motivated Young Carers Manager to lead our Young Carers and Young Adult Carers services across the London Borough of Harrow. This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people who provide care and support to family members.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Lead and develop borough-wide Young Carers and Young Adult Carers services.
✅ Oversee statutory young carers assessments and ensure high-quality service delivery.
✅ Manage, support and develop staff, volunteers and students.
✅ Lead safeguarding practice across the service.
✅ Build strong partnerships with schools, social care, health services and community organisations.
✅ Monitor outcomes, quality standards and service performance.
✅ Support activities, residentials, school programmes and transition services for young adult carers.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience managing children's, young people's, carers' or family support services.
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and ability to manage concerns effectively.
- Experience of managing and developing staff teams.
- Excellent assessment, report writing and case management skills.
- Strong partnership-building skills with schools, local authorities, health providers and voluntary sector partners.
- Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to analyse data, monitor outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by young carers and their families.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred services.
