Carpenter – Extensions & Loft Conversions
Morley Property Improvements Ltd is looking for an experienced and reliable Carpenter to join our growing team.
We specialise in house extensions, loft conversions and high-quality property improvements, working on residential projects across South London and surrounding areas.
The Role
We are looking for a skilled carpenter who can work confidently across all stages of residential construction. You will be working alongside our team on extension and loft conversion projects, carrying out first and second fix carpentry to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- First fix carpentry, including roofs, floors, studwork and structural timber
- Second fix carpentry, including doors, architraves, skirting and finishing work
- Loft conversion carpentry and roof structures
- Installing roof timbers, joists and structural components
- Door and frame installation
- Stud walls and partitions
- Pocket door installation – experience with Eclisse systems would be an advantage
- Reading and working from architectural and structural drawings
- Working accurately to building regulations and project specifications
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Working professionally in customers’ homes
- Working as part of a team and occasionally independently
Requirements
- Proven experience as a carpenter, ideally within residential construction
- Good knowledge of first and second fix carpentry
- Experience with extensions and/or loft conversions is highly desirable
- Ability to read drawings and work accurately from measurements
- High standard of workmanship and attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Good communication skills
- Own tools
- Full UK driving licence preferred
