BCHA is a forward thinking, dynamic and vibrant place to work. We employ great people who are committed to our values and want to achieve the best outcomes for those most in need of our services to ‘find a way forward’.
We look for enthusiastic, passionate, caring people who thrive on delivering effective services and going the extra mile. In exchange for your commitment, we will make sure you get the rewards, training and benefits you deserve. Our aim is to create a professional environment in which you can thrive: we want you to be able to be your best self in the workplace.
BCHA is looking for a forward-thinking Head of Data and Performance to lead how we use data and insight to improve our organisation and the lives of the people we support.
As a charity and housing provider, good data matters. It helps us understand our customers, improve services, manage risk, meet our regulatory responsibilities and make the best use of our resources.
You will lead the development and delivery of BCHA's data strategy, ensuring data is treated as a valuable organisational asset. You will oversee data governance, analytics, reporting and performance, making sure colleagues have access to information they can trust and use.
A key part of the role will be building a stronger data culture across BCHA. You will work with colleagues at all levels to turn data into useful insight, support evidence-based decisions and identify opportunities to improve how we work.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver BCHA's data strategy, ensuring it supports our mission, priorities and long-term plans.
- Lead the development of a strong data and performance culture across BCHA.
- Ensure data and insight are used to improve customer experience, service quality, organisational performance and decision-making.
- Lead and improve BCHA's data governance framework, including policies, standards, ownership, stewardship and data quality.
- Ensure our data is accurate, secure, accessible and fit for purpose.
- Oversee data architecture, engineering, analytics and reporting to meet organisational needs.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, data protection legislation and relevant regulatory, audit and information governance requirements.
- Develop meaningful performance measures that demonstrate progress, highlight areas for improvement and support accountability.
- Work with colleagues across BCHA to understand their information needs and turn data into practical insight.
- Identify opportunities to use technology, data and insight to improve services and make better use of our resources.
- Build confidence and capability across BCHA in using data effectively.
Lead, motivate and develop the data and performance team, creating a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
-
How you will make a difference
- At BCHA, data is about more than reports and numbers. It helps us understand what is happening, why it matters and what we can do better for the people and communities we support.
- You will bring energy and purpose to the role, ensuring data is used to improve services and outcomes. You will be confident challenging the status quo, championing better ways of working and helping colleagues understand the value of good-quality information.
- You will keep people at the centre of your work, using insight to better understand customer needs and inform decisions that improve their experience.
- You will set clear expectations around quality and delivery, while working with colleagues across BCHA to achieve shared goals. You will value different perspectives and help create an environment where everyone has the opportunity to contribute.
As a senior leader, you will lead by example – building trust, taking responsibility for outcomes and supporting a culture where people are encouraged to learn, improve and make a difference.
-
Why join BCHA?
This is an exciting opportunity to shape how BCHA uses data and performance information to deliver better services and achieve our wider purpose.
You will have the opportunity to influence organisational strategy, improve the quality and use of our data, strengthen performance and help BCHA make better-informed decisions.
If you are a strategic and practical data leader who wants to use insight to make a real difference and bring your expertise to a charity with a clear social purpose, we would love to hear from you.
