Industrial Mechanic
We are looking for an experienced Industrial Mechanic to join our maintenance team.
The role will involve carrying out maintenance, inspections, servicing and repairs on a range of site equipment and vehicles, including JCB and Jungheinrich forklifts, Mercedes vans and Ford vans.
This role would suit someone with a strong mechanical background who is confident working on vehicles, forklifts, plant, agricultural machinery, HGVs or similar equipment. The successful candidate will be practical, reliable and able to work independently across a varied range of equipment.
Main duties
- Carry out routine maintenance, servicing and inspections
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults
- Work on forklifts, vans and general site equipment
- Complete basic hydraulic, electrical and mechanical repairs where competent
- Carry out defect repairs following inspections or driver reports
- Prepare vehicles and equipment for servicing, inspection or MOT where required
- Keep accurate maintenance and repair records
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop
- Report any safety-critical defects or issues
- Support occasional weekend overtime when required
Skills and experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong mechanical experience
- Experience working on vans, forklifts, plant, agricultural machinery, HGVs or similar equipment
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Confidence using workshop tools and equipment
- A practical, hands-on approach
- Good understanding of safe working practices
- Ability to work independently
- Full UK driving licence
Experience with JCB, Jungheinrich, Mercedes or Ford vehicles would be beneficial.
Hours
Monday to Friday
8:00am to 5:00pm
Occasional weekend work may be required
Pay
£18.50 per hour
Overtime available.
