Management Accountant
Location: Armagh
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000
Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm
The Company
Our client is a well established and growing business operating across the UK and Ireland. Due to a maternity leave cover requirement, they are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their finance team on a 12 month fixed term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to join a busy commercial environment and play a key role in financial reporting, budgeting and business support.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of accurate financial information and supporting management decision making across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Month end and year end reporting
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Budget preparation and forecasting
- Variance analysis and commentary
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Assisting with statutory accounts and audit requirements
- Cashflow reporting and monitoring
- Supporting business managers with financial analysis and insights
- Maintaining financial controls and ensuring compliance with company procedures
- Assisting with process improvement initiatives within the finance function
- Ad hoc financial projects as required
The Person
Applicants should possess:
- Fully qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA
- Minimum 2 years post qualification experience
- Previous experience preparing management accounts
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Excellent Excel skills
- Experience working within a commercial finance environment
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Experience gained within a large accountancy practice would be advantageous
