We are looking for a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist specialising in neurological rehabilitation to join our growing multidisciplinary team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an OT who wants to make a real difference while also helping to shape and develop a progressive neurorehabilitation service. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues across Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Nursing and Hydrotherapy to deliver meaningful, person-centred rehabilitation.
The Role
As a Neuro Occupational Therapist, you will assess, plan and deliver individualised rehabilitation programmes for adults with a range of neurological conditions. You will support residents to maximise their independence, develop functional skills and achieve meaningful personal goals.
You will play an important role in developing our rehabilitation pathways, contributing to a culture of progressive, goal-focused rehabilitation and supporting individuals to achieve the best possible quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for adults with neurological conditions, including stroke, acquired brain injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and other neurological presentations.
- Develop and deliver individualised, evidence-based rehabilitation programmes based around each person's goals, abilities and functional needs.
- Focus on improving independence and participation in activities of daily living, including personal care, domestic tasks, leisure and community activities.
- Assess and develop cognitive, perceptual, motor and functional skills where appropriate.
- Assess and recommend appropriate equipment, assistive technology and environmental adaptations to promote independence and safety.
- Contribute to rehabilitation programmes that can be appropriately progressed or regressed according to an individual's changing abilities and goals.
- Work closely with Physiotherapy, Nursing, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated rehabilitation.
- Support residents and their families to understand their condition, rehabilitation goals and strategies for ongoing self-management.
- Maintain accurate, timely and high-quality clinical documentation in accordance with professional and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the development of OT and wider neurorehabilitation pathways within NEU Living.
- Support the development of evidence-based practice and contribute to service improvement.
- Provide advice, education and training to colleagues and care staff to support the carry-over of rehabilitation strategies into everyday care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, goal-setting and reviews of rehabilitation outcomes.
- Maintain professional competence through continuing professional development and reflective practice.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Current HCPC registration.
- Membership of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) is desirable.
- Experience working with adults with neurological conditions.
- Experience of neurological rehabilitation and developing person-centred rehabilitation programmes.
- Sound understanding of neurological conditions and evidence-based occupational therapy interventions.
- Ability to assess functional needs and identify appropriate equipment, adaptations and rehabilitation strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families and multidisciplinary colleagues.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise a varied caseload and manage competing demands.
- Commitment to continuing professional development and maintaining high standards of clinical practice.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications
- Postgraduate training or qualifications in neurological rehabilitation or a related area.
- Experience working within a specialist neurorehabilitation setting.
- Experience of working alongside or within hydrotherapy services.
- Experience of using hydrotherapy as part of a wider rehabilitation programme.
- Experience with assistive technology and specialist rehabilitation equipment.
- Experience of working with acquired brain injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease or other complex neurological conditions.
- Experience contributing to service development, quality improvement or the development of rehabilitation pathways.
- Experience of supervising or supporting junior staff and therapy assistants.
