Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and lead a variety of recreational activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
- Foster a warm, welcoming atmosphere that encourages socialization and community engagement among residents
- Collaborate with care staff to assess individual needs and develop personalized activity plans that support cognitive and emotional health
- Maintain accurate records of activities conducted, resident participation, and feedback to ensure continuous improvement
- Coordinate special events, outings, and themed programs that enhance residents’ quality of life
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to promote understanding of activity programs and their benefits
- Stay informed about best practices in elderly care, to ensure activities are safe, appropriate, and stimulating
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly desirable
- Demonstrated knowledge of senior care principles, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care techniques
- Strong communication skills to connect empathetically with residents of diverse backgrounds
- Experience in caregiving or activity planning within a care home environment is preferred
- Familiarity with creating engaging programs for individuals with cognitive impairments or mobility challenges
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team committed to compassionate care
Pay: From £13.28 per hour
