Here at Marstons, We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Manager/Head Chef to lead our small culinary team. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities, including food preparation and cooking processes
- Manage and mentor kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and professional development
- Oversee food production to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met
- Develop menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control waste to optimise operational efficiency
- Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely manner, meeting service deadlines
- Assist in training staff on proper cooking techniques, safety procedures, and serving protocols
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Implement cost control measures while maintaining high-quality standards
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a busy culinary environment, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Extensive background in food production, food preparation, and cooking techniques
- Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead diverse staff members
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
- Previous experience in restaurant operations or similar hospitality roles is highly desirable
- Familiarity with menu development, food presentation, and customer service standards
- Leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
