Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Driver specializing in 3.5-ton drop side vehicles to join our Plant & Tool Hire team in Glasgow, an Employee Owned Company. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to deliver essential equipment, tools, and materials efficiently across various sites. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 3.5-ton drop side van to deliver plant equipment, tools, and materials to customer sites across Glasgow and surrounding areas
- Plan delivery routes effectively to maximize efficiency and meet scheduled deadlines
- Assist with loading and unloading heavy items, utilizing proper lifting techniques to ensure safety
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding delivery times, instructions, and any potential delays
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, paperwork, and vehicle documentation
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to coordinate stock movements and ensure inventory accuracy
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or van driver, preferably within a plant hire or construction environment
- Strong knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safe driving practices for light commercial vehicles
- Experience handling heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely in a warehouse or logistics setting
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members
- Familiarity with Glasgow’s roads and local delivery routes is advantageous
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently in a fast-paced environment

Pay: £32,500.00-£35,000.00 per year
