Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy goods vehicles, primarily curtain siders, to deliver goods efficiently and reliably across various locations. Your expertise in commercial driving and delivery will ensure timely service while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including curtain sider trucks, flat trailers etc, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, managing time effectively to meet delivery schedules
- Secure loads properly on flatbed trailers, ensuring cargo stability during transit
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any maintenance or safety issues
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and route sheets
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
- Maintain a clean and professional vehicle appearance, adhering to health and safety standards at all times
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed trailers and delivery routes
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and transportation laws
- Experience with delivery driver responsibilities, including load securing and route planning
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude on the road
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to load securing and vehicle inspections
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings or weekends as needed
