We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Assistant to join our finance team within a busy manufacturing business. Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the company while helping to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective financial controls.

Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and issuing customer invoices.
- Checking supplier invoices against purchase orders and resolving any discrepancies.
- Processing purchase and sales ledger transactions.
- Maintaining accurate financial records through data entry.
- Using Sage Accounts for daily accounting activities.
- Assisting with payroll preparation and processing.
- Supporting the preparation of month-end accounts and reconciliations.
- Chasing outstanding customer payments and maintaining effective credit control.
- Assisting with financial reporting and preparing information for the Group Finance team.
- Supporting the Financial Controller with ad hoc finance and administrative tasks.
- Helping to ensure compliance with company financial procedures and controls.About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts assistant role.
- Experience using Sage Accounts (essential).
- Good understanding of accounting principles and finance processes.
- Experience with payroll processing.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Good communication skills and confidence when dealing with customers and suppliers.
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of month-end accounting procedures.
- AAT qualification or currently studying towards an accounting qualification.
