Support Your Local Community as a Customer experience Volunteer at our Donation and Distribution Centre based at Hasland. Chesterfield
As a Volunteer Customer Experience Assistant, you'll play an important role in creating a positive experience for everyone who visits our Donation Centre. You'll be one of the first people donors meet, helping to provide a warm welcome, receive donations, assist with Gift Aid registrations and ensure donations are processed smoothly. Working alongside staff and fellow volunteers, you'll help support the vital fundraising work that makes hospice care possible.
Time Commitment:
- Flexible shifts arranged around you

Ideally one morning or afternoon per week (a few hours still make a big difference!)
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll provide
-
Greet donors and visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner
-
Receive donated items and thank supporters for their contribution
-
Assist with Gift Aid registrations and explain the benefits of the scheme
-
Help manage incoming donations and ensure they are directed to the correct areas
-
Organise and store donations safely and efficiently in the back room
-
Support the sorting team with donation processing when required
-
Answer basic questions about Ashgate Hospice and its services
-
Help maintain a clean, tidy and welcoming environment

Work as part of a supportive team to ensure donors have a positive experience every time they visit

Important Information
- Volunteers must be aged 16 or over

All volunteers are required to attend:

Voluntary Statutory Training (3 hours)

Ashgate Hospice Induction (3 hours)

Local role-specific training will be provided

Confidentiality around patient and hospice information is essential
