The Opportunity
We are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Design / Process Design Engineer to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Role
As a Mechanical Design / Process Design Engineer, you will take a leading role in the mechanical design and development of energy projects.
You will produce detailed engineering documentation and support projects from initial concept through to commissioning and operation. Working closely with the Design Manager, you will be responsible for developing mechanical and process designs that deliver efficient, cost-effective and reliable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce engineering specifications, process flow diagrams and P&IDs
- Develop functional and technical design documentation
- Oversee the design of mechanical systems
- Carry out safety assessments and engineering calculations
- Complete pipework and pump sizing calculations
- Coordinate CAD design activities and ensure quality and timely delivery
- Liaise with project managers, suppliers and clients
- Assist with project budgeting and cost-effective design delivery
- Manage supplier performance and sign-off in line with project quality plans
- Provide on-site technical support, including layout surveys and troubleshooting
- Support CHP, Tri-Generation and BESS projects from concept through to commissioning
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- HNC/D or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification, ideally with a focus on power generation
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in technical management and development of energy projects
- Strong mechanical engineering experience within power generation
- Experience with pipework and ventilation design
- Knowledge of CDM and health & safety requirements
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Experience using AutoCAD 3D or equivalent
- A full, current driving licence
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills
