Following the recent acquisition of High Hopes Day Nursery in Hamilton, we are excited to begin a new chapter under the St. George’s Nursery family. We are now looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Nursery Manager to lead our Hamilton nursery and drive excellence across all areas of the setting.
The Role
As Senior Nursery Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care, education, safeguarding, and operational performance.
You will lead and inspire your team, build positive relationships with families, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements while creating an environment where children can learn, grow, and flourish.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
- Lead, motivate, and support the nursery team.
Manage recruitment, inductions, probation reviews, supervisions, and appraisals.
Promote a positive culture of teamwork, wellbeing, and continuous improvement.
Ensure staffing levels and ratios are maintained at all times.
Quality & Compliance
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the nursery.
Maintain outstanding standards of health, safety, and wellbeing.
Drive continuous improvement and quality assurance throughout the setting.
Childcare & Learning
- Oversee the delivery of high-quality early years education and care.
Support staff in planning engaging experiences that promote children’s learning and development.
Ensure all children receive individualised support and opportunities to reach their full potential.
Parent Partnerships
- Develop strong relationships with parents and carers.
Act as the main point of contact for families.
Promote excellent communication and customer service across the nursery.
Operations
Support nursery occupancy, budgets, and operational targets.
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Ensure resources are effectively managed and utilised.
Essential Requirements
Previous Nursery Manager experience or substantial experience
Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
A passion for providing exceptional childcare and early years education.
