Ernest Bevin Academy is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Teaching Assistant – Literacy to join our inclusive and ambitious school community.

You will work closely with the SENDCo, teaching staff and wider professionals to support students with literacy-related barriers to learning. Through targeted interventions and in-class support, you will help students build confidence, independence and the skills needed to thrive in school.

- Has good IT skills and the ability to maintain accurate records
- Delivering small-group and 1:1 literacy interventions (reading, writing, spelling and comprehension)
- Supporting students in lessons where literacy is a barrier to learning
- Monitoring, recording and evaluating student progress
- Working with teaching staff and the SENDCo to plan and adapt support strategies
- Promoting reading, language development and engagement with literacy across the school
- Building positive relationships with students, helping to develop confidence and independence
- Liaising with families and external professionals to support student progress
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to reviews and meetings
