The Senior Operations Officer will assist senior managers within the Transport Commissioning Team to deliver in-house fleet transport to ensure effective, efficient, and safe delivery of front-line services for eligible residents of Cheshire West & Chester in accordance with Council policies, procedures and resources.
This will include the management of Fleet Operations Officers, and a team of drivers / passenger assistants and school crossing patrol staff to successfully deliver a range of transport related services to the required legislative / regulatory standards.
The role will be based in Ellesmere Port and Winsford to suit business need.

Cheshire West and Chester Council are looking to recruit a Senior Operations officer who will have responsibility for managing the operation of our in-house fleet vehicles, this will include the management of drivers, passenger assistants and school crossing patrol staff.
You will have responsibilities that ensure we operate a legal and compliant service in order with the Council's Vehicle Operator License. You will need to demonstrate you have a comprehensive knowledge of legislation around vehicle roadworthiness and driver operations. You should have experience in managing large groups of employees and experience of working in a front line service delivery environment.
The fleet vehicles are based in Ellesmere Port and Winsford, each site has a depot which you will be required to work from. The role will require you to share responsbility for covering the out of hours duty phone approximately one week in every six.
