Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Installer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and testing fire alarm systems across various commercial, residential and industrial sites. This role requires a solid understanding of electrical systems, construction processes, and technical schematics to ensure the safety and compliance of fire detection systems. The ideal applicant will demonstrate proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and CAD software, alongside mechanical knowledge and electrical experience.
Duties
- Install fire alarm systems in accordance with technical schematics and design plans
- Conduct system design assessments to determine optimal placement and configuration of alarm components
- Use CAD software to develop detailed installation layouts and schematics
- Assemble, wire, and connect fire alarm components using hand tools and power tools
- Perform system testing to ensure operational functionality and compliance with safety standards
- Troubleshoot installation issues and rectify faults efficiently during the setup process
- Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate installation schedules and site requirements
- Document installation procedures, system configurations, and testing results accurately
- Provide technical support during system commissioning and final inspections
Qualifications
- Proven experience in electrical installation, preferably within fire alarm or security systems
- Strong understanding of system design principles related to fire detection technology
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical drawings
- Experience with CAD software for creating or interpreting installation layouts
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to construction sites and equipment handling
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and other relevant mechanical equipment
- Electrical experience with wiring, circuit connections, and troubleshooting electrical faults
- Familiarity with construction processes and site safety protocols
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in electrical work or fire alarm systems are desirable
