Paint Prepper / Vehicle Prepper Required
Overview
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Paint Prepper to join our hugely successful Bodyshop team in Braintree. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces and ensuring they are ready for painting, contributing to the overall quality of our products. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in manufacturing, with a focus on precision and safety. The position involves physical tasks requiring strength and technical skills, making it suitable for those with mechanical knowledge and experience with hand and power tools.
Hours are 47.5 hours a week, Monday- Friday, including 1 in 3 Saturdays.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare damaged vehicles and panels for paintwork
- Sand, fill, and smooth surfaces using hand and power tools
- Mask vehicles and panels to protect areas from overspray
- Apply primers and undercoats where required
- Carry out minor repairs and surface preparation
- Mix and handle paint materials safely
- Clean and maintain preparation bays, tools, and equipment
- Follow manufacturer specifications and bodyshop procedures
- Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards
- Work efficiently to meet productivity targets and deadlines
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience as a Paint Prepper, Vehicle Prepper, or similar bodyshop role
- Knowledge of vehicle paint preparation techniques
- Ability to use sanding and polishing equipment
- Good attention to detail and quality standards
- Understanding of health and safety procedures in a workshop environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence preferred
Qualifications (Preferred)
- NVQ/IMI Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Body Repair, Refinishing, or equivalent
- Experience in accident repair/Bodyshop environments
