Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Office Manager to lead the daily operations of our client’s busy office environment. In this pivotal role, you will oversee administrative functions, manage team coordination, and ensure smooth office workflows. Your proactive approach will foster a productive workspace, support human resources initiatives, and uphold excellent communication standards across all levels of the organisation. Responsibilities
- Supervise daily office operations, including clerical tasks, scheduling, and supply management to ensure efficiency.
- Manage team activities by coordinating schedules, delegating tasks, and supporting team management efforts.
- Oversee human resources functions such as onboarding new employees, maintaining personnel records, and assisting with employee relations.
- Utilise accounting software to handle invoicing, expense tracking, and financial record keeping accurately.
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries from clients, vendors, and team members to promote a professional image.
- Implement organisational systems for document management, correspondence, and office procedures to streamline workflows.
- Support administrative functions such as calendar management, meeting coordination, and communication across departments.
Skills
- Proven experience as office or practice manager gained in a professional services business, such as with a firm of accountants or property management company.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
- Proficiency in accounting, CRM and business systems and keen to embrace the effective application of AI to the work place.
- Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—to facilitate clear interactions with staff and external contacts.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Some knowledge of current human resources practices including onboarding, employee records management, and HR compliance.
- Exceptional phone etiquette to handle enquiries professionally and courteously.

Please note that this position is definitely office based - in the Lancing area. Home working or a hybrid arrangement is not available so please consider this before applying.
Hours are 9am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. You will need your own transport to get to the office as it’s not easily accessible by public transport.
Pay: £33,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
