Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Solar Electrician to join our renewable energy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing solar power systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications. Responsibilities
- Install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems according to technical drawings, safety protocols, and industry standards.
- Conduct site assessments to determine optimal placement and wiring configurations for solar panels.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment such as excavators to prepare sites for installation.
- Perform electrical wiring, connections, and testing of solar systems to ensure proper functionality.
- Carry out maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on existing solar installations to optimise performance.
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople, including welders and mechanical specialists, to complete projects efficiently.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Document work activities accurately and report any issues or delays promptly.
Requirements
- Proven electrical experience with a strong understanding of electrical systems and wiring practices.
- Experience working with solar energy systems is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to installation processes and site preparation.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and excavators.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and project plans.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to electrical work and construction sites.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in completing tasks accurately.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in electrical installation or renewable energy are preferred but not essential.
