Music Teacher – GCSE & Private Tuition
Langley Hall Arts Academy is seeking an outstanding Music Teacher to join our forward-thinking and creative academy from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Music teacher looking for a small, focused teaching commitment with the potential to build additional hours and income through private tuition.
We are looking for a passionate and inspiring musician who can deliver high-quality GCSE Music teaching while helping students develop their musical knowledge, creativity, confidence, and performance skills.
The Role
You will be responsible for teaching GCSE Music to motivated students in small classes, covering key areas of the curriculum including:
- History of Music
- Musical Appraisal
- Composition
- Listening and analysis
- Musical styles, genres, composers, techniques, and contexts
- Preparation for GCSE examinations and assessments
You will work in a supportive academy environment with small class sizes and an excellent behaviour record, allowing you to focus on high-quality teaching and meaningful student progress.
A Flexible Opportunity to Increase Your Income
Alongside the GCSE teaching, there is the optional opportunity to provide individual private music lessons to students. Private lessons are paid at £22 per 30-minute lesson and can be scheduled immediately before or after the GCSE Music sessions on Thursday and Friday. This provides an attractive opportunity for the successful candidate to build additional teaching hours around their existing timetable and increase their overall weekly income, without needing to commit to additional full days of teaching.
For example, a teacher could combine the 3 hours of GCSE teaching with several individual lessons around those sessions, creating a significantly larger and more rewarding teaching commitment.
