We are recruiting van drivers for our established client based in Tewkesbury on a temp-perm basis - immediate starts are available
You will be delivering beds and mattresses to residential properties.
You will have a drivers mate to assist with all lifting.
Working week will be roughly 48 hours when with the agency and then guaranteed 48 hours once permanent. Working days tend to be Monday to Friday with the option to work some Saturdays.
Start times are usually from 05:30.
Pay rate for this role is £13.39ph (£33,420 per year).
Drivers must be 21 and over and have some commercial van delivery driving experience as well as having held your license for at least 18 months.
These vacancies are temp to perm and permanent contract will be offered after 12 weeks completed.
Duties
- Safely operate a van to deliver goods to various locations as per the delivery schedule.
- Load and unload items, ensuring all goods are secured properly during transport.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including any discrepancies or damages encountered during transport.
- Assist in warehouse duties when not driving, including inventory management and organisation of stock.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a van delivery driver is essential.
- Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; no more than 6 points on license.
- Ability to lift heavy items safely and efficiently.
- Minimum 18 months on license.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers.
- Basic knowledge of warehouse operations is beneficial.
- Must be organised, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
