Are you an early riser with a passion for great food, exceptional guest service, and a hands-on approach to hospitality?
We are looking for a dynamic and energetic Breakfast Sous Chef / Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team across two award-winning boutique guest houses in Bath: The Ayrlington and Oldfields House.
This is a unique and varied role that combines breakfast service and kitchen leadership in the mornings with housekeeping supervision and operational support later in the day.
What You’ll Be Doing
Morning Responsibilities (Breakfast Sous Chef)
- Preparing and cooking high-quality breakfasts to an exceptional standard
- Managing breakfast service and ensuring a memorable guest experience
- Supporting menu development and seasonal specials
- Maintaining food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness standards
- Assisting with stock control and ordering
Afternoon Responsibilities (Housekeeping Supervisor)
- Supporting and supervising housekeeping teams across both properties
- Inspecting guest rooms and public areas to ensure the highest standards
- Assisting with room servicing when required
- Coordinating daily cleaning schedules and priorities
- Supporting the management team with operational duties
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Breakfast Chef, or Senior Chef de Partie
- Experience within hotels, guest houses, or hospitality environments
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to support multiple departments
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and lead by example
- Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential

Working Hours
Typical shift pattern:
- Breakfast service: 6:30am – 11:00am
- Housekeeping and operational support: 11:00am – 2:00pm
- 5 days per week, including weekends on a rota basis
