About the School
Wilbarston Primary School is situated in beautiful countryside and we have wonderful school grounds so children have space to work indoors and out and we actively encourage them to work safely and sensibly with each other and independently. As a school, we believe that we are equipping them with key learning behaviours that will support them as they progress into secondary school and adult life.
We work hard to develop a curriculum that is engaging for every child so they become ambitious learners and have a constant desire to improve. We provide opportunities for children to practise learnt skills so they are able to transfer this knowledge to support their understanding of new concepts. This approach to learning, with support of their teachers, enables them to identify their strengths and weaknesses and ask for support where appropriate.
At Wilbarston, we provide individual praise and feedback for every child and encourage children to provide the same to their peers so we develop a culture of positivity where everyone feels supported and valued. Alongside this and through careful scaffolding, we encourage children to observe and encourage others which provides them with opportunities to provide sensitive feedback to each other.
General Roles and Responsibilities:
To ensure the greatest possible progress and development of students, through high quality teaching and learning. To challenge and support all students to achieve their best by:
- Setting consistently high expectations and standards
- Enthusing, engaging and motivating students
- Inspiring trust and confidence in students and colleagues
