The Sundancer, situated on the stunning Nairn waterfront overlooking the Moray Firth, is entering an exciting new chapter under new ownership and management. Led by our Head Chef and owner, we are rebuilding our kitchen team and looking for a passionate, driven Sous Chef to help shape the future of one of Nairn’s most iconic dining destinations.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious chef who wants more than just a job. You’ll work closely with the Head Chef to develop menus, maintain high standards, mentor junior team members, and play a key role in creating a kitchen culture built on quality, consistency, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Assist with menu development and seasonal specials
- Ensure high standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene
- Lead and motivate the kitchen team during service
- Help manage stock control, ordering, and food cost targets
- Maintain compliance with food safety and health & safety regulations
- Step up to lead the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence

- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready for the next step
