Job Role
We are seeking an Internal Recruitment Consultant to join ah!media for an anticipated eight-ten week assignment and take sole responsibility for filling between six and ten vacancies across our core departments.
The successful candidate will manage the recruitment process from initial role briefing through to accepted offer. This will include recruiting for positions across Sponsorship Sales & Marketing, Delegate Sales & Management, Production and other operational functions.
The primary objective of the assignment is to successfully fill every open vacancy with candidates who possess the right skills, attitude and cultural fit for ah!media.
The role offers a high level of autonomy. The Internal Recruitment Consultant will be expected to take ownership of the recruitment strategy and day-to-day process, with key decisions and appointments subject to sign-off from the Senior Leadership Team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Meeting with members of the Senior Leadership Team and departmental managers to understand vacancy requirements and ideal candidate profiles
- Reviewing, writing and improving job descriptions and recruitment advertisements
- Identifying the most appropriate sourcing strategy for each vacancy
- Advertising roles and proactively sourcing suitable candidates
- Approaching passive candidates and building relevant candidate pipelines
- Reviewing applications and assessing suitability against role requirements
- Conducting initial telephone interviews with shortlisted candidates
- Producing high-quality candidate shortlists for review
- Coordinating the subsequent two-stage face-to-face interview process
- Maintaining regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process
- Gathering and communicating feedback promptly after each interview stage
- Managing offers, negotiations, references and pre-employment checks
- Reporting directly to the Senior Leadership Team on progress, challenges and completed hires
Key Skills and Qualities
- Previous experience managing recruitment processes from vacancy briefing through to offer acceptance
- Strong candidate sourcing, direct approach and headhunting capabilities
- Confident conducting telephone interviews and assessing candidate suitability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Results-driven and motivated by successfully completing appointments
- Proactive, persistent and resourceful when vacancies are difficult to fill
- Comfortable working with a high level of independence and autonomy
- Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to advise senior managers
- Good judgement when assessing skills, attitude, potential and cultural fit
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial SME environment
- Strong attention to detail and accurate administrative skills
- Comfortable receiving feedback and adapting recruitment strategies where required
Education and/or Experience
- Required: Previous experience in internal recruitment, agency recruitment, talent acquisition or a comparable generalist hiring role
- Required: Demonstrable experience sourcing, screening and progressing candidates through a structured recruitment process
- Preferred: A track record of successfully delivering multiple hires within a defined project or timescale
- Preferred: Experience recruiting across multiple departments or job functions
- A degree is not essential where the applicant can demonstrate relevant recruitment experience and a strong record of delivering results
Previous experience completing a similar short-term recruitment project would be advantageous, but it is not essential. We are equally interested in candidates who can demonstrate the drive, judgement and organisational ability required to deliver the assignment successfully.
Measures of Success
Success during the assignment will primarily be measured by:
- Filling all six to ten agreed vacancies wherever reasonably achievable within the assignment period
- Delivering suitable candidate shortlists promptly
- Maintaining momentum throughout the interview process
- Achieving strong interview-to-offer and offer-acceptance rates
- Preventing avoidable delays in candidate communication and decision-making
- Providing the Senior Leadership Team with clear and regular progress updates
- Delivering a professional candidate experience
- Appointing individuals who demonstrate the skills, attitude and cultural fit required by ah!media
