Overview
We are seeking an energetic and friendly Barista/All Rounder to join our vibrant team! This role is perfect for someone who loves creating exceptional coffee experiences, engaging with customers, and contributing to a lively café atmosphere. We're looking for an experienced barista and true all-rounder to join our Cardiff site. This isn't just about pulling great shots — we need someone who can move seamlessly between the espresso bar, front-of-house service, food and dessert prep, and general shop operations, all while delivering a warm, memorable customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Preparing espresso-based drinks and specialty beverages to a consistently high standard
- Supporting gelato, patisserie, and dessert-drink service alongside core coffee offerings
- Delivering friendly, efficient front-of-house service and building genuine customer relationships
- Maintaining cleanliness, food safety, and equipment care across the bar and shop floor
- Managing stock rotation, restocking, and basic inventory checks
- Operating the till and POS system accurately
- Supporting opening/closing procedures and helping train newer team members
- Handle cash register transactions accurately, including processing payments and giving correct change
- Support food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks and baking items as needed
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service without compromising quality
Requirements
- At least 1–2 years' experience as a barista in a specialty coffee or premium café environment
- Strong latte art and espresso extraction skills
- Confidence multitasking during high-volume periods without compromising quality
- A proactive, hands-on attitude — happy to help beyond the coffee bar
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
- Food hygiene certificate (desirable, not essential — training provided)
- Passion for coffee culture and eagerness to grow with an expanding brand
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy shifts
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt quickly in a dynamic setting
