Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mining Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing mining operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance. Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive mine plans using CAD and AutoCAD software, incorporating system design principles and schematics.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify operational issues and implement corrective measures.
- Manage projects related to mining operations, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints through effective project management techniques.
- Design and optimise systems involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), MATLAB, Python, C++, and other programming tools to automate processes.
- Analyse data collected from laboratory tests and field measurements to inform decision-making processes.
- Utilise SolidWorks and GD&T principles for detailed mechanical design of equipment or infrastructure components.
- Collaborate with construction teams to ensure safe and efficient execution of mining projects based on construction experience.
- Perform systems engineering tasks to integrate various subsystems within the mining operation seamlessly.
- Prepare detailed schematics and technical documentation for system design and maintenance purposes.
- Apply mathematical skills to model processes, evaluate performance metrics, and optimise operational efficiency.
- Conduct laboratory experiments or field tests as required to validate engineering solutions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in systems engineering, project management, or related fields within the mining or construction industries.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with practical construction experience.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks; familiarity with Schematics is essential.
- Advanced data analysis skills using MATLAB, Python, or similar tools; experience with C++ is advantageous.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and system design principles.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively to troubleshoot operational issues.
- Experience with GD&T standards and laboratory testing procedures.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong mathematical background relevant to engineering applications.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Pay: £45,000.00-£110,000.00 per year
