Pay Rate: £18.00/hour PAYE (£23.56/hour Limited/Umbrella)
Job Purpose:
To support the Empty Homes (Voids) team in preparing vacant properties to a high standard, ensuring homes are turned around efficiently and are ready for residents to move into. The role involves driving, general labouring, cleaning, clearance duties, water management tasks, and assisting operational teams with day-to-day property maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive council vehicles safely to designated locations and support operational activities
- Assist the Voids Repairs/Responsive Repairs team with empty property turnaround works
- Operate gutter cleaning equipment following appropriate training and safety procedures
- Carry out water management tasks and support property maintenance requirements
- Undertake basic cleaning, clearance, and preparation duties within empty homes
- Assist Team Leaders with daily operational tasks including keysafe removals
- Drop off and collect keys from properties and service locations as required
- Top up energy metres and support property readiness checks
- Assist builders and trades staff with general labouring duties when required
- Move materials, equipment, and waste safely in line with health and safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment across all properties and work areas
- Complete tasks efficiently to support the timely re-letting of empty homes
Key Requirements - Essential:
- Full valid driving licence suitable for work vehicle use
- Experience working in a labouring, property maintenance, repairs, or housing environment
- Ability to carry out physical manual work including lifting, cleaning, and clearance tasks
- Willingness to learn and operate gutter cleaning and water management equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks to a high standard
- Must be eligible to work in the UK
- Confidentiality Agreement required
