About Us
Amalfi White is an exclusive-use Victorian wedding and events venue set within beautiful grounds in Melbourne, Derbyshire. We host weddings, private celebrations, and corporate events, and pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional guest experience from the first enquiry through to the last drink served. Alongside our events, our main bar is also open to the public, so our bar team plays a central role both in bringing private events to life and in delivering great everyday service to walk-in guests.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Bar Manager to lead our bar operation for a 12-month maternity cover contract. You'll take full ownership of the bar across all events, ensuring smooth, professional, and profitable service, while supporting and developing our bar team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of bar service for weddings, private events, and functions, as well as day-to-day service for public bar guests
- Recruit, train, rota, and lead a team of bar staff
- Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships
- Oversee cocktail menu development, costing, and pricing
- Monitor bar sales, margins, and monthly P&L performance
- Ensure full compliance with licensing, health & safety, and allergen procedures
- Work closely with the Venue Manager and wider events team to deliver a seamless guest experience
- Maintain a safe, well-presented, and well-stocked bar area at all times
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Bar Manager or senior bar supervisor, ideally within weddings, events, or hospitality
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
- Solid understanding of stock management, cost control, and supplier negotiation
- Knowledge of licensing law and health & safety compliance
- Must hold a valid Personal Licence
- Excellent organisational skills and the flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by our event schedule
