The Role
As a Secondary Classroom Support Assistant, you will:
- Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across a range of subjects.
- Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning.
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
- Encourage student engagement, confidence and independence.
- Provide additional support to pupils who may need extra help to achieve their potential.
- Assist with classroom preparation and learning resources.
- Support students both academically and pastorally throughout the school day.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with children or young people (school experience is desirable but not essential).
- A positive, patient and proactive approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
This role would suit graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, youth workers, sports coaches or anyone with transferable experience supporting young people.
